Andrew Bartlow currently serves as an Operating Partner and Senior Advisor for Altamont Capital, focusing on executive talent and leadership effectiveness. He has more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources across a variety of industries, company sizes, and stages of maturity – including consumer packaged goods, diversified industrial, financial services, professional services, education, consumer technology, and real estate; Fortune 50 public companies, early stage startups, and everything in between. Over the course of his career, Andrew has participated in numerous M&A transactions, significant scale-ups, as well as multiple IPOs, reorganizations, and successful private equity sponsor exits. He has directly advised dozens of C-level executives, interacted regularly with public company board members, supported employee populations of 5,000+, built HR & recruitment functions from scratch, led teams with 20+ People professionals, and learned from the best during his formative years at Pepsi and General Electric.
In addition to his work with the ACP portfolio, Andrew mentors other HR leaders and advises VC-backed companies through his personal consulting practice (Series B Consulting) and is a cofounder and faculty member of People Leader Accelerator, which supports the development of HR leaders at rapidly growing organizations. In 2021, Columbia University Business School Press published his book, “Scaling for Success: People Priorities for High Growth Organizations” – which has been nominated for several Management Book of the Year awards.
Andrew earned his Bachelor of Arts in Industrial-Organizational Psychology as well as a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois, where he served for over a decade on the alumni board. He has served as the Co-President of Wells Fargo Volunteers, and has been a board member of the Biz World Foundation, StartupExperts, and a member of the Full Circle Fund. He has been certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR), a Six Sigma Green Belt, a Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP), a certified Berkeley Executive Coach (BECI), and he continues to speak and write on matters related to organizational effectiveness.
