Pete Lane is a Senior Advisor of ACP. In this role, Pete helps source, evaluate and monitor investments in the energy and industrials sectors. Pete has extensive operating and advisory experience across a broad spectrum of the oilfield and industrial sectors. Pete began his career as a Field Engineer and Operations Manager with Schlumberger, operating in India, Egypt and the North Sea. He spent seven years at Schlumberger before returning to graduate school at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon receiving his MBA, Pete joined Bain & Company, where he led the Dallas and Mexico City offices, and was Co-head of the Global Oil & Gas Practice. After more than a decade with Bain, Pete returned to an operations-focused role at a leading private equity firm, before assuming the CEO position at Valerus (now trading as Axip Energy Services), a global oilfield services company focused on natural gas surface handling. At Valerus, revenue and EBITDA more than doubled leading to a sequence of strategic divestitures to refocus the business and maximize equity value for shareholders.
Pete earned a B.Sc Hons (Physics) from the University of Birmingham (UK), and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Pete currently sits on the boards of a variety of companies in the energy / industrial sectors (including Axip).
