Allan “Al” R. Dragone, Jr. currently serves as a Senior Advisor to Altamont Capital, focusing on distribution, industrial, and industrial service companies. He has over four decades of experience driving profitable transformations in the services industry for private equity-backed and public companies. Throughout his career, he has been a CEO of three companies, led four successful exits/sales, and has taken a company public. Most recently, Al was the CEO of FleetPride, a TPG portfolio company. Prior to joining FleetPride, Al served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of GCA Services Group, a Blackstone portfolio company. Prior to GCA, Al served 10 years as CEO of Unisource Worldwide. He then led the merger with Xpedx, a division of International Paper, and took the combined entity public in 2014 as Veritiv Corporation (NYSE: VRTV); he remained as a Director of the Board for two years after. Previously, Al served as the majority owner and CEO of Graphic Communications, until its sale to Bain Capital and incorporation into Unisource Worldwide in 2003. He began his career with Champion International, serving in various roles, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing for International and Newsprint.
Al earned his BA degree from Middlebury College, where he serves on the board, and received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Al currently sits on the board of Wave Electronics.
