Brad Fischtrom

Operating Partner

Brad Fischtrom is an Operating Partner for ACP, focusing on the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance sector. He possesses a multifaceted leadership and technical skill set that spans (re)insurance risk and capital management, capital markets and insurance-linked securities (ILS), underwriting, operations, finance, and analytics.

Most recently, Brad was the COO of Ledger Investing, Inc., an insurtech startup, where he supported the creation of a digital marketplace and deal servicing platform for ILS.  During his tenure, the firm grew from seven employees to over 70 and successfully securitized ~ $2 B of insurance premium into the capital markets.   Brad was accountable for the firm’s P&L, as well as company operations and product development. He also served as Director of Ledger Re SPC, a Class B(iii) insurer and exempted segregated portfolio company based in the Cayman Islands.

Prior to Ledger Investing, Brad spent a decade at AIG building out an enterprise risk management function and framework for its global P&C business. He was responsible for various elements of analytics and underwriting oversight during his tenure, including leading the function from 2016-2020 as Chief Risk Officer for Global Commercial and North America P&C insurance, including global responsibility for capital modeling/management, risk appetite and limit setting, risk governance, and catastrophe risk management. He also served on the boards of all of AIG’s U.S. insurance companies.

Brad has leveraged his passion for risk management to frequently engage in industry thought leadership. He has authored several papers on P&C risk management subjects, spoken at industry conferences, and served on the Advisory Board of the Cambridge Centre for Risk Studies.

Before joining AIG, Brad worked as a management consultant at Tillinghast Towers Perrin and as a broker at Aon Risk Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration—Finance from the University of Richmond, and he is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
