Shelley Zajic

Operating Partner

Shelley Zajic serves as Operating Partner and Senior Advisor for Altamont Capital Partners focusing on maximizing Human Capital and leveraging HR Operations and Talent Management.  

Shelley brings more than 30 years of global human resources experience across diverse industries, with deep expertise in talent management, leadership development, total rewards, and employee experience. She specializes in M&A due diligence, integration, transformation, turnaround, growth, and interim Chief Human Resources Officer roles.

Over the past several years, Shelley has led complex human capital initiatives, partnering with organizations to navigate strategic transitions, build strong leadership pipelines, and drive cultural and operational alignment through periods of significant change.

Previously, Shelley served as Global Chief Human Resources Officer for The Patrón Spirits Company, where she oversaw all facets of global HR and led the human resources integration during Patrón’s $5.1 billion acquisition by Bacardi Ltd. in 2018. Prior to Patrón, she held senior HR leadership roles with The Trade Desk, Apollo Education Group (parent company of the University of Phoenix), Schottenstein Stores Corporation (whose portfolio includes DSW, American Eagle Outfitters, American Signature Furniture, and others), UnitedHealth Group, Assurant Inc., Clifton Gunderson LLP, and Olsten Professional. Shelley began her career with Guardian Life in San Francisco.

Shelley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.  She is certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR), is a certified executive coach, and is certified in Predictive Index.  Additionally she is a proud member of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
