Joe Zuk is an Operating Partner for Altamont Capital Partners, bringing a dedicated focus to corporate and business development across new and existing ACP portfolio companies within the insurance vertical. Joe Zuk is a visionary insurance executive and investor with over two decades of experience driving growth, innovation, and M&A execution across the Property & Casualty (P&C) sector. He specializes in identifying new opportunities, maximizing value for ACP’s backed platforms, leveraging a unique blend of underwriting discipline, corporate development expertise, and a deep focus on integrating AI and digital transformation. Previously, Joe served as Managing Director of Corporate Development & Strategy for Orchid Underwriters, a private equity-backed MGU specializing in catastrophic personal and commercial property lines. During his tenure, he spearheaded high-impact growth initiatives, including the innovative formation and launch of a proprietary segregated cell captive reinsurance facility, the expansion of critical carrier partnerships, and the management of the M&A pipeline.
Prior to Orchid, Joe held dual executive roles at Atlas General Holdings, serving as President of the Commercial & Property Divisions and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development. He successfully scaled the commercial P&C divisions through organic development while simultaneously directing the firm’s broader corporate growth strategies. Before Atlas, Joe was an accomplished reinsurance broker and underwriter with over a decade of experience in treaty and facultative property and casualty reinsurance. During that time, he developed an extensive network of relationships across the industry landscape in both domestic and international markets.
Joe is a graduate of New York University, earning a Bachelor of Arts with concentrations in finance, history, and cinema. Joe enjoys dedicating his time to mentoring and encouraging young professionals to enter and advance within the broader insurance industry.
