Ralph Shayne

Ralph Shayne is an Operating Partner at Altamont Capital Partners, focused on investment opportunities in specialty finance, insurance, asset management, and tech-enabled services. He brings more than two decades of experience as a founder, CEO, and CFO of private equity–backed companies, with a record of scaling and exiting category leaders and leveraging technology to drive growth and profitability.

Before joining Altamont, Ralph built and led several successful businesses through private equity exits, including Oasis Financial, the market leader in consumer legal funding, and PayLink Direct, the leading provider of extended warranty payment plans. As CEO and CFO, he raised over $1 billion in capital and delivered significant EBITDA growth and shareholder returns.

Ralph earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Physics from Haverford College. He mentors entrepreneurs in Booth’s New Venture Challenge accelerator program and is the author of Hour of Need, winner of the Claus Deleuran Prize for Best Danish Graphic Novel, now used in schools for World War II education.
